16 Swoon-worthy Literary Tattoos for Writers and Bookworms
I am no longer a tattoo virgin! Yes, I might have finally agreed to book my appointment after a lot of amaretto and some gentle peer pressure, but it’s been a long time coming. I’ve always loved tattoos and have wanted one (or many), but my fear of needles and the whole being a total wuss thing has always stopped me. Until now.
A few years ago, one of my friends got a jigsaw piece tattoo, and then another friend did, and another – until I was the only one in my close circle of friends without one. Since, it’s become our little symbol. So to make sure I didn’t miss out, my best friend bought me a tattoo voucher as a present for my 23rd birthday and three whole years later (eep!) I finally decided to go for it. I’m now the proud wearer of a teeny tiny jigsaw piece on my shoulder (photo proof) and am so immensely pleased that I went through with it! I’d built up such a massive fear, that even getting to the tattoo parlour was a massive step.
I’m not saying I’m going to go mad and get loads more – but now I know that I actually survived I won’t rule out getting another one in the future. Cue a literary tattoo. I think it would be wonderful to proudly display my love of writing and reading for the whole world to see, and to carry some of my favourite quotes or characters around with me. But what to choose?
